Marked By Life

When did it Come
the symbol of "Marked"?
In infancy? When fire Marked
the eve of my birth?
Or symbolic was it,
when death came in
on the first years end?
Four years old,
left abandoned and alone...
was that the time?
Or was it the years
which followed filled with
hatred and animosity,
woven in with love & nurturing?
Was this the time
the Mark became seen?
Innocence lost,
before adolesence came.
Was the Mark then brightened
by the scars of lifes pains?
It was there somewhere,
in those years of youth...
for by the time adulthood
touched this soul...
the Mark played its deepest role.
Half through this lifes destiny,
still somehow this Mark
won't free... free this life...
Marked by sin so ridden
with pains out and in.
A soul tormented with the questions ...
Why and When did the Mark take form?
How and Will this Mark ever be lifted?
Will time here end and always leave....
this soul ... Marked by Life?....
