Lies Consume

One lie to cover the anger
Another to hide the tears
Just a simple lie to make things better
One upon one... Year upon year

Nearly half a century of these
No way to make them truths
Life at times gets hard to breath
How much longer must...
Lies be the truth?

Searching, hoping, waiting
For that one day life will set free
The tangle of webs suffocating me.

I don't love you.
I don't want you in my life.
I'm sorry I ever chose these things.
I'm not happy behind this smile.
The laugh is a mask.
Beautiful in the reflection...
Doesn't change the image within.
It's all a game society demands
A charade to be a certain way....
Well... It's simply a rehearsed routine.

Living years 'til death is kind enough
To find me in my sleep.
To take away the years of this
Without hurting souls dear to me.
For, even a death must be a lie.
Entwined in a sad goodbye.
When reality says it's
The best thing in life,
The one thing they lived for,
Prepared for....
Lies consume life ....
Lies consume breath.
....
By the lies breath will one day
Flow freely...
Then cease.
Bringing peace.
Consuming no more.
